Overlay District Regulations
D.B. Hartt developed a unique economic development overlay concept in Olmsted Falls. The district provides incentives for economic development along the riverfront in a manner that is sensitive to the location limitations of the City and will reinforce the current small town qualities. The locations for this district are contrary to the conventional location criteria for industrial or retail development.
We developed "Town Center" regulations for Chester Township and Macedonia to ensure that future development reinforces the prevailing characteristics of these areas and that the concept of a Village or Town Center is preserved and enhanced.
In Stow, our firm developed a corridor overlay district for Darrow Road. The district provides regulations and administrative procedures to ensure that non-residential development is limited along the corridor and when it occurs, it will be at a scale consistent with the immediately adjacent residential areas.
In Willoughby, D.B. Hartt prepared a conservation overlay district to protect open space and natural resources.
