Controlled Expansion of Non-Conforming Uses
D.B. Hartt developed regulations in Chester Township and Lakewood to permit the controlled expansion of non-conforming uses. Contrary to conventional zoning, this provision is a means of encouraging property owners to maintain their property rather than seeing non-conforming uses continue to be neglected.
Our firm also developed the Route 18 corridor overlay district for Granger, Medina, Montville and Sharon Townships in Medina County. Furthermore, we established standards to ensure a high quality of development building placement, landscaping, building design, signs and access management regardless of the underlying zoning district.
